When you are as physic conscious as me, you’ll want a good rowing machine for yourselves. But what if you find a rower and machine to do your strength exercises all in one? ProForm is one such a brand that has a machine capable of taking care of both the needs.
I have recently been experiencing an amazing machine from this brand. It is called ProForm 440R Rower.” In this ProForm 440R rower review, let us examine the pluses and negatives of this machine.
Features of the Product
ProForm 440R rower machine can be used for two purposes. You can use this as a regular rowing machine, and you can have benefits of the “Strength Station.” The second feature of this product is that you can have as many as 8 different levels. Start from beginner level exercises and make your progress through higher levels of resistance. The soft-touch handle will enhance your grip. It won’t slip up, and the ergonometric design will help you in preserving your fatigue level.
There is also an LCD monitor to keep track of things. This monitor will help you keeping track of how much calorie you’ve been burnt, measures your distance covered, total strokes of yours per minute and many more things. There are pivotal products, which will keep your feet in place. The straps can be adjusted and fit according to your ease of use. There is another feature, which comes with the 440R and that is the “Seat Rail.” It is a lightweight part, but very durable metal (aluminum) has gone into its making, and it is oversized for your comfort.
My Experience: Things That Worked
Well, first of all, it has a nicely built exterior. It catches you on the first instant. The “Rowing” part of the machine is very much comfortable (when you compare it to other products of the same price-pool). The straps can support even if you are a bigfoot (I am 6 feet 3 myself). The seat is well padded, keeps you covered. The maximum weight it supports is 250lbs. There is the facility of adjusting to 8 different levels of exercising. The levels can be tuned by turning the red knob just beneath the display screen. You’ll have to adjust it manually. If you want one of those with heart-beat scanning and exercise presetting, you’ll have to spend more bucks.
Another point I need to mention about the ProForm 440R rower is the display. Keeping the price range in mind, the display works just fine. It shows all the major indicators that you need to know. It accurately displays the numbers so you can determine your exercise plans. There is a scan mode which monitors your stats for a good 6 seconds before moving on to another stat.
Things that Need to Improve
One of the few downsides of the ProForm 440R rower is its parts. They take a long time to be put together. It could have been better if some of the parts were pre-assembled. Another thing is the handle. To some, it might feel like a little too slim. It tends to slip when you try to grip it. Furthermore, the shape of the handle makes it less favorite to use. In the official website, it is mentioned as a good machine for strength exercises. However, I think people should limit themselves to rowing only.
This Rower from ProForm is comfortable prices in the market. So, I guess in such a price, this is the best machine to get. If you want added functional, you can spend a few more and get yourselves a nice machine. But when you consider mid-ranged rowers, this is genuinely the best as per the price tag.
